You’ll learn everything that’s been hidden from you, and then it’s off to
– Sumène – Early music concert “La Pavane du Roy” as part of the European Heritage Days at 5pm at the Prieuré Saint Martin de Cézas – €10
– Sumène – As part of the European Heritage Days, a discovery walk. The Ensumène gorges are one of the four main gateways to the Cevennes massif, the “temporary” bed of the Rieutord is a draille, and it was through this valley that the Gallic Rutènes road passed. But do we know that its western flank also bears the traces of a probable “Roman road” that climbed towards the Col des Barrices and probably doubled the Gallic path? It is possible to see these traces and then to realise that the pass mentioned was an important crossing point before it was relegated to the status of a byway. J.-P. Renaud invites you to discover these two sites, humble elements of a little-known part of our Cevennes heritage. Departure at 8.15 am by car pool. Duration 3 hours, registration required

To prepare, come along to the picnic on the banks of the Herault on Sunday 28 August 2011 at Cazilhac (Departmental Domain of Fesquet)
As we are all impatient to get out of our costumes, we invite you in period costume to come and join us for a great 1900s picnic at the Departmental Domain of Fesquet in the commune of Cazilhac (opposite Laroque) on Sunday 28 August 2011

The concept of the meal is simple: everyone brings a dish of their choice which we will share together. The organisers will provide the barbecue and aperitif.
Don’t forget to bring your one-piece swimming costumes and inner tubes for the afternoon swim in the Herault
A barrel organ, a saxophone and an accordion will enliven this afternoon on the water’s edge. Our friends from the retromobile club cevenol will be there with their classic cars.
If you’d like to warm up before coming along, we’ll be handing out the words to the following songs so that we can all sing along: Les Roses de Picardie, Frou- Frou, under the bridges of Paris, Riquita, Valse Brune, Ramona, Valencia…
So grab your baskets, tablecloths and napkins and get down to the waterside to prepare for Ganges 1900 together!
