Labels and References Camping Isis in the Cevennes

Since its creation in 1975, we have promoted QUALITY TOURISM that respects natural resources, the environment and our guests.

3-star classification according to the new standards of our Ministry of Tourism
For your information, here are the compulsory criteria for 5-star campsites (top-of-the-range open-air hotels). Isis Campsite in the Cevennes is pleased to meet these criteria, but we are deliberately limiting ourselves to a 3-star rating, because nowadays, giving more space to nature, to the “wild”, to nature in general, is unfortunately sometimes perceived as negligence, and we don’t want to disappoint customers who still make this mistake.
“Wild grass isn’t dirty, it’s just a bit crazy”.
Let’s go back to the criteria for obtaining 5* from the atout France classification (official and national classification)
– The maximum number of pitches per hectare is 70. ok for Isis
– Reception is provided in 3 foreign languages, including English (si hablamos español muy bien, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Spaniards and Talians, who don’t often give us the opportunity to practise their languages…) Ok for Isis
– Existence of a website and sales information material in 2 foreign languages, including English. Ok for Isis
– Refreshment facilities on site or nearby. Ok for Isis
– Additional comfort equipment such as a washing machine. Ok for Isis
– Reservations can be made 24 hours a day. Ok for Isis
– In terms of layout, there is more living space. Ok for Isis
– A swimming area is compulsory. Ok for Isis
– Internet access on pitches (not possible on Isis because the public services have forgotten about the wired access, but 4G is becoming available almost everywhere) and in communal areas (OK on Isis and free of charge).
– Sanitary facilities and heated showers. Agree with Isis
– 5-star establishments must offer a certain number of optional services to their customers: swimming pool, relaxing massage, tennis, hairdresser (not really at Isis, but compensated by a beautician service and, if you want a haircut, we can also take care of that, no problem!), spa, fitness instructor (yes, on the mysterious island, a real adventurer’s course).
– We would gladly add to these criteria :

A personalised welcome where human interaction comes first.

In 2022, Isis Campsite in the Cevennes will be awarded the “Accueil Vélo” label to offer its customers a greater level of service

In 2016, the campsite was awarded the “Qualité France” and “Qualité Sud de France” labels

Campsite Isis Esprit Parc National des Cévennes

In 2016, the Domaine d’Isis became the first establishment of its size to be designated a National Park, and we’re proud of it!

Camping Isis has signed the European charter for sustainable tourism

Since 2015, this distinction has been all the more interesting because it is an ongoing process. You can find out more in our article on our environmental policy.

Since 1997: The Guide du Routard has graciously recommended us in their guide.
We would like to thank them warmly.

Cévennes Eco-tourisme is an association linked to the Cevennes National Park.
It encourages service providers (hoteliers-restaurateurs-producers, etc.) to sign up to the “European Charter for Sustainable Tourism” as part of a process of progress.
Camping Isis joined this initiative in 2007 and Florence plays an active role in the life of this association by being a member of its board of directors (Florence has been vice-president since 2011 and co-president intermittently since 2017).

The French Outdoor Hotel Federation is our professional union. It represents campsites in dealings with our institutions, ensuring that its members comply with the rules, advising and defending them (Ministries, prefectoral services, National Parks, Chambers of Commerce and other administrations).
Camping Isis has been a member since its creation in 1975 and has been active on its board of directors since 2000 (Florence is a member of the Languedoc Roussillon branch office and a member of the Occitanie board of directors).

Cévennes Côté Soleil is a local association of tourism professionals (hoteliers, restaurateurs, outdoor activities, nature sites, museums, etc.). It is committed to working with our elected representatives and institutions to ensure the harmonious development of the tourist economy in our beautiful Cevennes region.
Camping Isis has been involved since 1996 (Florence has been a member of the Bureau since 1997).

Clef Verte is a national label for establishments committed to a responsible approach, guaranteeing a setting that respects the environment and natural resources.
Isis campsite had been committed to and certified since 2009. However, in 2016, we stopped contributing because the administrative management of this certification was too time-consuming.

Cévennes Tourisme was a commercial showcase created in 2006 by our Chamber of Commerce for the whole of the Cevennes, and going beyond departmental borders, we supported it from the outset and promoted it as best we could, because we felt that this project was fantastic for the economy of our Cevennes. Congratulations again to our CCIs, it’s a shame they didn’t persevere, and long live this name taken up by the Alésienne gateway to the region.

Camping Isis has been a UNESCO Ambassador since the club was founded in 2013.
Since 2011, a large part of the Causses and Cevennes has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a project that we have been following closely because it is so exciting and promising. When the agreement governing this project created an “Ambassadors’ Club” in 2013, it was only natural for us to play as active a part as we could – we were part of the first wave.

Office de Tourisme “Cévennes Méditerranée” is our office 🙂
Camping Isis has been a member since it was set up in 1975 and has been involved in the Board of Directors since 1996 (Florence has been vice-president since 2008).

The Basin Entrepreneurs Club Ganges-Le Vigan-Quissac-Sauve was set up in 2009. It brings together around a hundred business leaders who want to work together on the economic development of our region. Camping Isis has been a member and committed member since 2011. (Since then, Florence has been a member of the board and co-president since 2020)
